Erdem Christina Devoré Velvet Midi Dress

With a nod to one of Sweden’s national colours, the Duchess picked out an elaborately patterned dress by Erdem for a reception at the Fotografiska Gallery in Stockholm, during the 2018 Scandinavian Royal Tour.

The ‘Christina Devoré Velvet Midi Dress’ features a stunning devoré velvet fabric, mock neckline, banded waist, large fluted sleeves, a flounced hem and the classic A-line silhouette that Kate so often favours.

Canadian-Turkish designer Erdem Moralioglu is known for his use of experimental textiles and bold prints such as this. The dress is described: “Inspired by English interiors and Islamic miniature paintings, Erdem pays subtle homage to the two sides of his heritage via the floral print of this dusty-blue Christina velvet-devoré dress from the AW17 runway show. It’s shaped for a Victorian feel with a high neck, flared cuffs, and a fit-and-flare skirt backed by a nude silk crepe de Chine lining. Pick up a favourite clutch and add lace-up pumps to complete the evocative vision.”
